If you’ve never heard of Xtend Barre, it’s a high energy fitness class that is basically a fusion of dance, pilates and ballet. You wear socks with grip (and your exercise gear), and follow a fast-paced class to funky music using items such as the barre, a mat, ball, weights, stretchy band and yoga strap. And it’s incredible. Here’s what we loved about it:

hello

11 Mar The best workout you’ll ever do

There are so many different ways to exercise – the gym, running, kick boxing, swimming, yoga…the list is endless. All can be beneficial in their own ways, so often it just comes down to what is best for your body and what you actually enjoy doing. It can often be really hard to stay on top of your fitness though, especially if you’re a mum with young children or a busy career, with many women looking for an ideal workout solution that will give maximum results in minimum time – that’s also fun and convenient.

Well you’re cheap NFL jerseys in luck, we’ve found it.

In our most recent stylem magazine issue we profiled the International Director of Xtend Barre, Rockell Williamson-Rudder, and it inspired us to give this relatively new fitness craze a whirl. So we put on our socks and headed over to the Manly Xtend Barre studio for a two week trial.

Our verdict? Best. Workout. Ever.

If you’ve never heard of Xtend Barre, it’s a high energy fitness class that is basically a fusion of dance, pilates and ballet. You wear socks with grip (and your exercise gear), and follow a fast-paced class to funky music using items such as the Cheap barre, a mat, ball, weights, stretchy band and yoga strap.  And it’s incredible. Here’s what we loved about it:

The results – Even after only a few sessions there was noticeable weight loss (without any change in diet), and an overall feeling of improved wellbeing. The combination of movements are so unique that you really are getting a total body workout – be prepared to sweat!

The vibe – There’s excitement in the air (even at 6am!), the music is pumping and everyone is genuinely keen to be there, plus the studios are also lovely. It’s a challenging yet very uplifting workout.

You don’t have to be a dancer – Although the barre is used, it’s actually a bit more like aerobics. So if you’ve never done ballet or dance (or even pilates), you’ve got nothing to worry about. Beginners may find it pretty grueling for the first few sessions, but you can adjust the workout to suit your ability (such as by using lighter weights), wholesale jerseys and your fitness will improve pretty quickly so soon you’ll be keeping up with the best of them.

You don’t have to be 18 – There are plenty of women in their 30s and 40s (and even 50s!), loving Xtend Barre classes, and they look super fit!

The variety – If Gear you’re not too fond of barre work, there are a number of other Xtend Barre classes that are variations on the general workout, such as: Xtend Circuit 7 (boot camp like 7 minute high intensity drill exercises), Xtend Barre Stick (using a stick apparatus to add resistance) and Xtend Fit Ball (for a fun twist).

The instructors – They are all really friendly, helpful and very good at In what they do (most are former dancers). A lot of them also participate in classes too, which is very encouraging given they all have exceptionally fit bodies!

They cater for mums! – Some studios (such as Mosman) have a child minding service for only $6 per child, so no excuse for mums not to take part.

The impressive booking system – To attend a class you need to purchase what type of pass you’d like online, and then reserve a spot in the class of your choice. They also have a handy mobile app for reserving and cancelling attendance. There is a 12 hour cancellation period, however if you don’t show up charges are incurred which might sound harsh, but classes can get really full. It’s also an amazing motivator for cheap NBA jerseys getting your tired body to the studio.

One slight negative…Xtend Barre is quite expensive, but don’t let this deter you. It’s such a unique and effective workout that it’s worth the money, and it’s also addictive. The more you go the more you benefit too (for your body and wallet) – as an indication a monthly unlimited pass costs $259 so if you’re going 3 times a week then it’s around $20 per workout, but if you only go once every two weeks then it’s going to work out a lot more than this.

So if you’re not a fan of loud music, sweating, or getting a fabulous fit body – then Xtend Barre is not for you. For everyone else, see you at the barre!
